The Winch Monitoring System 200 is designed for a vessel (ie Maersk Nan Hai VI) and the purpose of the system is to measure and record the Anchor Wire Tension, Wire Length and Wire Speed of the mooring chain whilst in operation.

Two Load cells under each Winch are rated to 200 metric Tonnes. The forces imposed on the 2 Load cells are transformed to electrical signals, and sent to the Winch PLC, where the electrical signals are processed and converted into engineering units and displayed as tension in the wire, in metric Tonnes. 

The Corner Computers have a bespoke Strainstall system, based on PLC software, run under Unitronics V570.
